Wednesday Works (Thursday editition) - Graffiti Art time with 4th grade
This is another project I've posted about on the blog. Here --> Wed Works - 4th grade Graffiti and here --> Mon Motivations - Graffiti artist DARE
It's a popular one from beginning to end. We start with the YouTube videos (previewed before class and sound off on 80% of them) as our inspiration. Then shift into letter manipulations with blocks or bubbles, stretching and pulling sections of letters or negative spaces, and design work in our sketchbooks to begin. Then we blow them up onto huge paper.
Here's the student's works so far....
The next step is adding a thick border before cutting them out to hang on the walls like "real graffiti"
