Wednesday Works - Dr Seuss cats - new lesson for 1st grade

I'm continuing on in my pursuit of new lesson plans for my curriculum and this one seems like a good one so far.   I may have to fiddle around with some parts but what I'm seeing so far may work well.    I think the next time around I'll have the kids make the colored paper clothing first, then draw their cats wearing them.

We looked at these and talked about Seuss.

 Then we talked about cats and what makes a cat a cat. 

Also what made this cat different than the ones Dr Seuss made.

Then we drew our cats wearing clothing!
